I would guess these young geese are in their adolescent stage.

I got these geese crusing through a parking lot in Fayetteville one morning.

#262 Road/Street

I was afraid to spend much time on this road because I am already afraid that I am on the road to the poorhouse! You think it would be easy to sell a house on this road?

#180 March to a Different Drummer

This guy has been hanging out on streetcorners since I was 16 yrs old. He shouts, he preaches, he looks to the sky and paces back and forth. I have to give Steve credit for this picture, he snapped it for me, I was driving. I like how he has a cigarette in one hand and his Dr Pepper in the other - multitasking?

I found these blue canisters at Victoria High School.

#12 Antique

A typewriter at Victoria High School. I guess the principal's secretary used it to type letters to send home with the 'bad' students. This keyboard is a lot different than the one I'm using now!

#14 Artificial

This apple was on the principal's desk. It fooled me into thinking it was real with the dew drops on it. I realized it wasn't real when I picked it up.

#268 School

Steve and I attended his high school reunion this past weekend. His alumni association actually owns their high school. The high school was going to be torn down a number of years after Steve graduated. The alums raised enough money to buy the school and preserve it. We toured the building and this is the principal's office. One of his classmates remarked that it seems smaller than he remembered it. I've had the same feeling when I went back to my school.

#228 Patriotic

If you don't feel patriotic while watching the US Navy Blue Angels perform, then you don't bleed red, white and blue.

#231 Perfect Alignment

Kudos to the US Navy Blue Angels. They performed for us at the 2009 Wings over Wayne Seymour Johnson Air Show. Thanks to all of our military for serving and doing what I don't have the guts to do!

#211 Oops!

Oops, this is Chicken Scampi from a popular Italian restaurant.
Someone forgot to remove the sticker on the pepper before cooking it and putting it on my plate. I guess that means the food is fresh.

#154 Humor

I hadn't seen a daffodil like this before. I showed this picture to my Mom and asked her what was it called? Her reply, "scrambled eggs". I gave her a funny look and said, "what?" She told me yes, that is what they called them back home.

This tulip was open and almost past its prime. But I think I captured the details so well, I want to show it off!

#19 Chair

I would love this to be my yard. I could see myself sitting in these chairs looking at this view every day for hours. I caught this picture during the NC Azalea Festival Garden tour. If you have a spare million, the house next door was for sale for 1,495,000 dollars.

#256 Reflections

This little guy kept swimming closer and closer to me. I knew he was looking a snack; but all I wanted to do was take his picture. I found him swimming in a retaining pond in a subdivision in Wilminton.

#296 Song Lyrics

"Hey, you, get off my cloud!"
I caught this cormorant flying in to knock this pelican off his piling. The pelican wasn't having none of it. He told that bird to find someone else to knock off or maybe...pick on someone your own size!

#331 Times Gone By

One of the attractions of the NC Azalea Festival are the belles. Each belle is sponsored by a member of the Cape Fear Garden Club. Southern belles like good old southern family values are a thing of the past; but every now and then you see them come back!

#365 Yellow

The hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers.

#111 From Ground Level

I was playing ball with Sandi on Friday and inspiration struck!

#3 A Movie Title

Not very original or creative. I posterized this in PSE. It seems to have cut down on the reflections that I saw in the original photograph.

#41 Canine Companions

This is my companion, Steve and our canine companion Sandi. As you can tell Sandi has a tongue and knows how to use it. Just who taught dogs to kiss humans with their tongues? This one was born knowing how! I think Sandi may love him a little bit!

#40 Candy

I didn't notice this when I took the picture: but there's a cute little girl in the top right corner staring admiringly at this candy! This could have went for rainbow too! But hopefully with a little luck of the Irish (LOL) I will see a real rainbow this year!

#53 Clocks

Seems like every downtown area has a clock. It also seems that it is always in front of the jewelers. My hometown has one. This clock is in downtown Wilmington, NC.

#16 Award

Certainly not my best work so far. But the company I work for rewarded everyone that passed the LEED AP exam the past quarter with a dinner at An in Cary, NC. I must give them an A for the presentation, but as for the flavor, I wasn't impressed. The rice is wrapped in a leaf that made a bowl. I was able to be funny and pick up the rice in the leaf and place it next to my chest as if I was pinning it on as a buttoniere. Wouldn't that be funny, if guys could wear buttonieres with snacks in them ? It might make more want to be groomsmen............
PS I took this with my camera phone, I was embarassed to go to the car and get my camera for fear that my cohorts would think that I hadn't eaten a meal in a restaurant before!!! Shame on me!

#172 Lines

On the roof again, the lightweight concrete has not been poured yet and the sheathing hasn't been placed on the studs. So the studs are lines, the decking makes lines, the safety cable is line around the perimeter, the structural steel itself makes a line. When I saw this, I saw lines everywhere.

#249 Rain,Rain, Go Away!

Double posting on this theme, forgot I'd fulfilled it. So I will use this one as a free theme. I wanted to capture the raindrops hanging on to the tree limb. I think the gray in the background emphasizes the rainy day.

I Was Tagged

My sixth folder is called 2007 Pics. This is Sandi with her Aunt Lisa in the office I used to work in, actually it was an old duplex house on Seymour Johnson AFB that will be torn down soon. Ah, the memories. Sandi was still a baby - only five months old when this picture was taken. She really didn't have much hair !

#206 Occupation

Not being a nautical person, I can't tell you what these guys are doing besides in laymens terms - -- tying up the sails? Is that it? They are on the boat, the peacemaker. You can read more about her here http://www.peacemakermarine.com/ Basically, these young men are earning a modest salary but the main goal is to teach young men comaraderie, basic ship skills and teamwork.

#237 Polka Dots

I am not a big fan of polka dots. This swimsuit was on display at Dillards - which is where it will stay.

#249 Rain,Rain, Go Away!

I would guess that is what these two ducks are wanting, even though it was raining, they were just floating along.

#357 What's for Dinner?

In the barren tree, was this hawk. I believe he may have been trying to figure out what's for dinner?

#22 Barren

A barren island with barren bushes, trees and barren trees around the pond.

Free Theme #7 The Bradford Pear

I liked this picture, it didn't seem to fit any of themes. I have some other ideas for spring that I hope will come to fruition soon. I've always seen these trees flower at spring time and decided to do some research on them. They could be called angels or devils...one of the websites I pulled up described the flowering bradford pear tree a devil and just don't plant it. The reasons being: the foul odor (yes I agree), it's life span (30 yrs), and it's inability to resist winds. I did notice a lot of broken trees. It also puts out suckers underneath that will tear up a lawn mower. Oh what a price to pay for springtime beauty.

A limo always get attention, now paint it pink....put some rims on her......she won't be able to hide anywhere.

#57 Clown

I was afraid of clowns when I was a kid. Actually, I still am!
I'm starting to feel that this challenge has become somewhat of a scavenger hunt, I'm searching for items to take pictures of that will fit a theme. I'm losing some inspiration or maybe creative juices. This is just a picture of a picture, not too exciting. This picture was in McAllister deli and hey it's a clown. However, I didn't notice when I took the picture that the clown is actually a wino!!

#207 On My Table

Being born and bred in the South, there is always sweet tea 'on my table' at every meal. The past weekend, I got to try McAllister's deli. The sweet tea was the best and the best value. I think this cup probably held 20 oz of the popular southern survival juice.
