#249 Rain,Rain, Go Away!

Double posting on this theme, forgot I'd fulfilled it. So I will use this one as a free theme. I wanted to capture the raindrops hanging on to the tree limb. I think the gray in the background emphasizes the rainy day.

I Was Tagged

My sixth folder is called 2007 Pics. This is Sandi with her Aunt Lisa in the office I used to work in, actually it was an old duplex house on Seymour Johnson AFB that will be torn down soon. Ah, the memories. Sandi was still a baby - only five months old when this picture was taken. She really didn't have much hair !

#206 Occupation

Not being a nautical person, I can't tell you what these guys are doing besides in laymens terms - -- tying up the sails? Is that it? They are on the boat, the peacemaker. You can read more about her here http://www.peacemakermarine.com/ Basically, these young men are earning a modest salary but the main goal is to teach young men comaraderie, basic ship skills and teamwork.

#237 Polka Dots

I am not a big fan of polka dots. This swimsuit was on display at Dillards - which is where it will stay.

#249 Rain,Rain, Go Away!

I would guess that is what these two ducks are wanting, even though it was raining, they were just floating along.

#357 What's for Dinner?

In the barren tree, was this hawk. I believe he may have been trying to figure out what's for dinner?

#22 Barren

A barren island with barren bushes, trees and barren trees around the pond.

Free Theme #7 The Bradford Pear

I liked this picture, it didn't seem to fit any of themes. I have some other ideas for spring that I hope will come to fruition soon. I've always seen these trees flower at spring time and decided to do some research on them. They could be called angels or devils...one of the websites I pulled up described the flowering bradford pear tree a devil and just don't plant it. The reasons being: the foul odor (yes I agree), it's life span (30 yrs), and it's inability to resist winds. I did notice a lot of broken trees. It also puts out suckers underneath that will tear up a lawn mower. Oh what a price to pay for springtime beauty.

A limo always get attention, now paint it pink....put some rims on her......she won't be able to hide anywhere.

#57 Clown

I was afraid of clowns when I was a kid. Actually, I still am!
I'm starting to feel that this challenge has become somewhat of a scavenger hunt, I'm searching for items to take pictures of that will fit a theme. I'm losing some inspiration or maybe creative juices. This is just a picture of a picture, not too exciting. This picture was in McAllister deli and hey it's a clown. However, I didn't notice when I took the picture that the clown is actually a wino!!

#207 On My Table

Being born and bred in the South, there is always sweet tea 'on my table' at every meal. The past weekend, I got to try McAllister's deli. The sweet tea was the best and the best value. I think this cup probably held 20 oz of the popular southern survival juice.

#267 Sandy

This is Sandi on the sandy steps of the pier.

#356 What Am I?

What am I will probably have to be the eternal question unless one of you can tell me what it is. I saw this over the weekend in Wilmington so it won't be possible for me to see what emerges.

#112 From the Sea

So this is what I find on the seashore. I always hope to find a nice sand dollar, starfish or a conch shell. Some seaweed, fishing wire and weight.

#209 On the Water

I have never gone sailing, maybe one day.

#233 Photographer

Here's Lisa with her camera. She's real good at spotting subjects to fill my themes. Maybe I will get her talked in to participating in the challenge by next year! ;-)

#164 Kite

No this is not a dolphin jumping out of the ocean. It is a kite. The March winds have arrived. Of course, I think it is always kite flying weather at the beach. I've never been to the beach when the wind didn't toss my hair around.

#351 Warnings

Duh! At least I hope that you can evacuate. But I didn't know beaches in NC had tsumani potential.

#304 Stop The Action

#55 Coin Operated

A parking meter in downtown Wilmington.

#35 Bridges or Tunnels

The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge over the Cape Fear River in Wilmington,NC.
If you are a movie buff or TV fan, you may have spotted this bridge before.

#79 Doors

Not your everyday typical double doors. At least, not anymore.

#4 A Pair of .....

really BIG anchors.

#221 Outdoor Seating

I'm using that nice zoom feature to much on my camera. The balconies were located on a second story. Something I just realized is that there's not much sitting area on one balcony.

Free Theme #6/52 Yawning to Law Enforcement

Sandi says hurry up! I want to get out of this car. How long does it take to write a ticket anyway? She only barked at the deputy once. I was afraid that she was going to bark incessantly at the deputy and he would throw the book at me for having an unfriendly dog!

Free Theme #5/52 Innocent

Lisa says she was just riding. Didn't even know we were speeding!! The Lincoln rides like a dream.

#155 Imperfect

As a reminder to myself and everyone else, I'm not perfect. My best friend and I took a trip to Wilmington,NC and one of the goals was to snap some shots for my blog. This guy's goal was to give me a speeding ticket. Cruise control will be my new friend!

#27 Black & White

This is Scruffy waking up from a nap. She is the mother of Tommy, the cat in the previous post. I gave her to my Mom for Mother's Day five years ago. I brought her in my Mom's house wrapped up in a sweatshirt. She couldn't wait for my Mom to unwrap the sweatshirt and meowed to give away the surprise. She has been my Mom's 'cat' ever since. She has just started to warm up to my father recently. Another interesting character trait about Scruffy is she is JEALOUS of her OWN children. My parents kept two of her kittens. She does not like them to receive attention.

#97 Feline Friends

This is one of my parents' feline friends. His name is Tommy or in this picture, fat and happy. He actually has an amazing story. He was hit by a car almost a year ago. He survived with a broken shoulder and wore a splint on his arm for a couple of months. He still likes to go outside, so my parents are lucky she still has him.

#153 How About this Weather?

Hopefully, this is the last cold snap we will have and spring will be on its way. After all, it is Spring Forward this weekend, time to set your clocks forward one hour. These icicles were hanging off the porch deck on the job trailer I work in. The temperature has been in the teens the past couple of nights and didn't get over 40 during the day. Wow, winter did come to eastern NC this year.
